Abstract

This article studies the complex formation of three β-blockers with (2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) in aqueous solutions using spectrophotometry and capillary electrophoresis. It was established that bisoprolol forms complexes with HP-β-CD with a stoichiometry of 1:1, while a stoichiometry of 2:1 was established for metoprolol and atenalol. The electrophoretic mobility of the compounds under study in the presence of a macrocycle was studied. Based on the data of an electrophoretic experiment, the binding constant of bisoprolol with HP-β-CD in an aqueous solution was calculated, and the formation of a stable complex was shown.
