Abstract

This paper presents the main results of an experimental study of the influence of alloying impurities (Zn and Mg) and a constant magnetic field of 557.0 kA/m on the microstructure and microhardness of the technical aluminum alloy V95pch and model aluminum alloys Al-Zn and Al-Zn-Mg. It has been established that the application of a constant magnetic field lasting 4 hours at an aging temperature of 140 °C to the aging process of aluminum alloy V95pch leads to an increase in the microhardness of the alloy up to 21%, and a negative magnetoplastic effect is observed. However, in the model alloy Al-Zn-Mg, the magnetoplastic effect is practically not manifested, all microhardness values are within the measurement error. The undoubted role of alloying impurities in the process of phase formation and creation of metal alloys with the required set of structural properties has been discovered.
