Increasing competitiveness of river transport enterprises in regional passenger transport

Abstract

In this article presents the main factors affecting the volume of transportation by inland water transport, identifies the advantages of using water transport and the main problematic issues in its modern development. The types of river vessels used in passenger transportation in the Samara region, the state of the existing transport infrastructure, as well as the existing route network of intraregional transportation are analyzed. The possibility of introducing new promising types of river vessels on the basis of the enterprise – the object of study is considered, proposals are made to correct the existing timetable for the movement of vessels. An economic assessment of the results of the production activities of the existing and proposed fleet of inland water transport has been carried out. The competitiveness of new types of vessels in meeting the existing demand of the population for passenger transportation has been proved.
